Dragons of Change

to and fro
lonesome journey
burden on my back
carrying my horse
in darkness
fast approaching
I fail
to keep control

once upon a horse
a shining
unfastens her armour
abandons her dragons
to journey
across bridge
of change

guardian dragon
destroyer of evil
in the glory
of accomplishment
remembering ancestors’
deceptive battles
today’s lesson
to create
new history

mournful beneath heavy snow
persistent doldrums

*Here is a little something to inspire those of us still buried in snow:  Taken from The Rose lyrics…

“When the night has been too lonely and the road has been too long
And you think that love is only for the lucky and the strong
Just remember in the winter, far beneath the bitter snows
Lies the seed, that with the sun’s love in the spring becomes the rose”

Word of the week : doldrums

Moving into a

small furnished bed-sitting room

emptying boxes

slipping into bed

content for neat ambiance

dreamland carry me

a tap on my head

calmly I turn to one side

tapping on shoulder

my eyes wide open

creature shrieking in my face

“get out of my bed!”
