What’s in a Name

Written in response to prompt: V.J.’S WEEKLY CHALLENGE #38: WHAT’S IN A NAME?

What’s in a Name?

Many years ago I connected with a spiritual group on the Internet. Two of the members befriended me personally; we had phone calls across oceans and a few visits in person.

These friends were poets, sharing their poems on this site. One of them would post a poem and the other answered with another poem. This really caught my eye, I loved what they were writing.

At this time, I had never written anything or even attempted to do so. But it peaked my interest. Letting go my fear of being laughed at for trying to make sense in writing a poem I eventually answered their poems with one of mine. This stream of poems lasted for a few week for the three of us. By then we had written pages long of answered poems. The poems were free verse and very long ones.

To make a story short, my poems often spoke of the Willow, the Willow being the center core in my response poems.
One of the poets began addressing me as Mother Willow.

The name I originally gave my WordPress site was “Mother Willow”. Then I change it to Willow Poetry as it described better what my site was about.

So there you have it, what’s in a name…short version.
