oh I love these little fellows Helene … I’ve been up north several times to watch them hatch but somehow weather has thwarted me each time but it must be a magical experience 🙂

Picture from the Internet, it is so cute to see them all scrabble to the water. I have seen it on TV.

Lovely Hélène. We are very protective, by law in Florida, of turtle nests and we see many nests on our beaches. They are cordoned off and no one is allowed to interfere with them. When they hatch it is a miraculous site to see those babies heading to the water and of course all the seabirds hovering. Your heart is in your mouth ❤️

What a sight would be wonderful for me to see in real life, rather than on TV. They are so vulnerable to those birds, many don’t make it to the water in time. Such is nature. We have no control over this.

Your haiku reminded me of this good news article.

I was a caretaker of a couple of turtles for a few years until I found them a new home…
They had gotten to be the size of a sandwich and a small dinner plate.
