Being Me

Prompt: Details in the Fabric -by Jason Mraz

Being me
Oh Lord, do grant me
Solution so I can just be me.
Stop this despair
Directed at me
Feels like a nightmare.

Will they ever realize?
Their solution is not in me.
Their need to find their own
Become their stepping stone.

I dress as I please;
They find fault in my seams.
Cut my hair to my style;
Their nagging is like bile.

Why did it bother me?
This misdirected judgment.
For a long time it confused me
Until one day, within me, I felt content.

Thank you Lord!
You have given me the solution to be me.
